Casa Ramón was designed by the leaders of Puerto Rico Children and Youth Rights Network (known in Spanish as Red por los Derechos de la Niñez y Juventud) to address a gap in services and support of our most vulnerable youth. The Network, which itself is comprised of representatives of over 20 group homes and shelters, was keenly aware of the lack of support youth as they age out of government Family Services and are faced with the challenges of independent life. In 2020 Casa Ramón became the first group home for independent living and resource center aimed at serving youth ages 15-24 on the Island.
